About the Event

  • On Saturday, June 25th, thousands of men, women and children will gather at Jackson Park / Chicago's lakefront to raise funds and awareness for the fight to end hunger in Cook County.  The Hunger Walk is a fun opportunity for individuals, businesses and organizations to help ensure their neighbors get the food they need.
  • The Hunger Walk starts at Jackson Park.  It's an out and back route; heading North along the lakefront, turning around at 57th Street.
  • There is limited FREE parking (E. Hayes Drive & Lake Shore Drive Lot and 63rd Street Beach Lot) and there are also street parking and paid parking options.
  • When you join the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry Team and/or make a donation to the team, 100% of the funds will directly benefit Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry.  In FY 2015, the Food Pantry procured over 340,000 lbs of food from the Greater Chicago Food Depository.  The funds from the Food Pantry's team and team support help make the procurement of that food possible.
