December 2024: Volunteers of the Month

Beth Pecenka

Home Delivery's volunteer of the month is Beth Pecenka! Beth is no stranger to the Home Delivery Program and has helped us with deliveries for years. We entrust her with loading the bus and managing the onsite deliveries. She is a master of loading the bus in the most orderly and efficient way. Her work is a true masterpiece and her feedback over the years has helped us streamline our operations to serve more people! In addition to doing the deliveries, Beth helps out with calling shifts. Over the years she has developed relationships with many of our program participants because of her involvement. Beth's warm and welcoming personality brings joy to our program participants. The consistency Beth brings helps us build those deep relationships that make our program so special. Thank you, Beth!

Amanda Massie

The Pantry's volunteer of the month is Amanda Massie! Amanda has been volunteering with us for 6 years and is always helping us with what is on the schedule for the day. She often picks up our rescues, helps with our sort and bag shifts, and is always running around during distribution to ensure everything runs smoothly with no bread leftover by the end. Amanda can also be found deep cleaning forgotten areas of the pantry when there is a break in pantry action. Amanda is so welcoming and helps to train new volunteers by showing them the ropes of Beyond Hunger. Our jobs are easier because of volunteers like Amanda who can step in to assist with any task or request. We appreciate all that she does because the pantry just wouldn't be the same without her!
