CONGRATULATIONS MARCH VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH

Adrianne Gregory and Christian Nacaspaca

HOME DELIVERY

Adrianne Gregory (left) took on client calls with gusto! Our team understands that HD Calling can seem daunting the first time you do it, but Adrianne wanted to try out a new volunteer shift and support Home Delivery. After her first day calling, she signed up for shifts for the rest of the week to helping us check in with over 250 clients. This was such a HUGE help and we know our clients will be happy to hear her voice again next month

OAK PARK PANTRY

Christian Nacaspaca (right) started volunteering a couple months ago and has since become a regular part of the team. He's at the pantry almost every day - often for multiple shifts - and is willing to take on any task or odd job . From shuttling bins of canned goods to and from Centennial Hall, to rinsing out expired yoghurt containers, to chipping away at the 8 boxes of apples that need bagged - Christians's on it as soon as you say the word.

World of Flavors

A WORLD OF FLAVORS

This March, along with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, we're celebrating National Nutrition Month by featuring a “World of Flavors”.

Our cultural traditions often focus on the foods we eat, the foods we share with each other.  When we share a plate with a friend or neighbor, we share a bit of our home and traditions. We can celebrate global diversity through the different colors, flavors and textures in the varying meals we prepare.

We've curated some delicious cultural recipes from around the globe packed with flavor, taste and appeal.
Check em out here.

A bunch of gratitude

WHIRLWIND COFFEE

We've got a whole latte love for Whirlwind Coffee Company!
Thanks to Whirlwind's Bread And Butter coffee blend fundraiser - and every caffeine loving contributor.  $1600 will help provide a lot of meals for a lot of families.

KETTLESTRINGS TAVERN

Thanks to Kettlestrings Tavern for hosting a week long Dine Out for Hunger. And thanks to all of you who dropped by for lunch or dinner, or tried the Beyond Bourbon Old Fashioned!  That's over 1500 meals!

HRUBY CUP

Over the years OPRF Huskies Hockey has long held a food and fund drive—Hockey Checks Hunger. They are an amazing partner and have impacted our community for many years. This year, thanks to the Paul Hruby Cup Series, the Fenwick and OPRF High School's hockey teams for their phenomenal sportsmanship, and Coach Hruby for additionally creating a community event that raised $10,000!

THIeRER FOUNDATION AND DELIVERY FIRST

Thanks to the Thierer Foundation for helping us connect with the perfect delivery partner!  With Thierer Foundation's support, more groceries are reaching homebound adults in the Austin neighborhood. Delivery First delivered for the FIRST time just last month, helping us serve a record number 340 individuals through our Home Delivery program! And thanks to our new partnership, we'll have access to Delivery First's mapping system—making it even easier for us to plan our volunteer "home to home" delivery routes.
