Sales Tax Holiday through August 14th.

Beginning today, Illinois kicks off a ten-day period during which consumers can purchase certain clothing and school-related items and pay sales tax at a reduced rate. The tax rate during the holiday will be reduced by 5 percent! The sales tax holiday will end on August 14th.
