September 2024: Volunteers of the Month

Faustino Calletano

The Pantry Team would like to shoutout Faustino Calletano as volunteer of the month. Faustino has done just about every task there is to do at the pantry. Including but not limited to: valet for distribution, sorting donated food, recycling and compost, packing boxes, and bringing in produce deliveries! Faustino always does the work with a positive attitude. Pantry staff have also learned new Spanish words from him. Did you know the Spanish word for donut is rosaquilla? Neither did we! Volunteers like him make it easier for us to work towards our mission to end hunger in our communities. ¡Muchas gracias por todo, Faustino!

Kim Watkins

The Home Delivery team would like to recognize Kim Watkins as our Volunteer of the Month! Over the past year, Kim has supported our program in a variety of ways. She's done calling, she's bagged produce, she's shopped; she's basically done it all. Lately she's become our clutch Route Assistant, helping us deliver groceries to our large senior buildings in Oak Park. Whether over the phone or doing an in-person delivery, Kim's warmth and care shine through. She is a joy to work with, and spreads that joy to our clients. We love that she really creates that personal connection. Thank you, Kim!
