Millions of pounds of food go unused each year in Illinois.

Beyond our primary goal of feeding hungry neighbors, Beyond Hunger believes in the importance of our work to help sustain our environment. We are committed to reducing food waste by working with retail, farmers market, area farms and grocery store partners to divert safe, edible food from landfills and provide it to people in need. In 2019, food donations to our Pantry account for 48% of the food that is distrubited to the monthly 1,400 families who rely on our services.
